About the Austin International Church of Christ
Our Beliefs
Our church is a community of believers with Jesus Christ as its head. The Austin International Church of Christ is committed to being a New Testament church, which follows the Bible as the word of God and seeks to bring glory to God through every member living life as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Our Vision
Our vision is to reach our community and make a difference in the lives they live through the good new of Jesus Christ. We believe we can accomplish this through helping people discover God's purpose for their life through teamwork, creativity and excellence.
Church Staff
Evangelist & Women's Ministry Leader: David & Angela Hooper
Dave & Angela both hail from Columbia, SC. They met in High School but went separate ways for awhile, Angela attended the University of South Carolina while Dave graduated from California State University, Long Beach. In 1992, they both answered a call to go to Russia to serve on the mission field. It was there they dated and were married. They have 3 lovely daughters, Stasya, Savannah, and Callia. After spending 4 years in the former Soviet Union planting churches, Dave & Angela moved to Austin in 1996. They have faithfully served this congregation from that time to the present with the exception of a brief 2 year stint in Los Angeles from 2002-03.
Campus Interns: Jeremy Lindley and Brigette Hammond
Jeremy Lindley was baptized into Christ November 2, 1999 at the University of Texas at Arlington where he served as president of the Upside-Down campus ministry. Upon graduation from Wichita State University, he was asked to serve as an intern in the LA campus ministry of the LA Church of Christ. After two years of service in LA, God has brought Jeremy back to his hometown of Austin, TX to serve as campus minister for the campus ministry at University of Texas, Austin Community College and Texas State University.
Brigette Hammond is a Houston native and became a Christian in the Teen Ministry. After graduating from the University of Texas in 2005, she moved to New Orleans to further her education. After a year in New Orleans, she decided to pursue the full-time ministry through a summer internship that allowed her to serve campus ministries in Atlanta, South Carolina and San Antonio. Brigette now serves as the a Campus Intern for the University of Texas, Austin Community College and Texas State University.
